Visit Paris' seat of justice, La Conciergerie, and admire the powerhouse of the city which dates back to the Roman times over 1000 years ago

La Conciergerie has been the central seat of authority and justice in Paris for almost 1000 years. It has a rich history and its ancient halls have seen countless games of power played out within them over the centuries.

The original La Conciergerie was a Roman fortress that, due to its enduring political significance, has been repeatedly enlarged throughout the years. It evolved into the oldest royal palace in Paris – the Palais de la Cité.

La Conciergerie highlights

  • It was said at the time to be the most impressive palace of the Middle Ages and continues to amaze any Paris visitor who walks within its walls. In the late 14th Century the kings relocated and La Conciergerie became the central administration offices of the Parliament of Paris.
  • The atmospheric corridors and grand halls of this ancient civic building are a grand monument to the beauracratic powers that once stretched across half the world.

Made Paris fun and easy to navigate!! With only 4 days to spend in Paris, the Paris Pass was awesome. It really cut down on wasted time trying to navigate from one experience to the next. I think we were able to see much more with the Paris Pass. The Hop On Hop Off bus is a terrific idea as well.

Fabulous! The Paris Pass was great to have on hand during our trip. We only had 5 days, and with 3 children in tow, we wanted to keep things moving as much as possible. We would absolutely recommend utilizing The Paris Pass. In order to get the most out of it, I would encourage you to carefully look through the guidebook so that you can plan out a general guideline to follow for your trip to make sure that you are using all of the opportunities. Enjoy!
