The Unique Experience at the Orangerie Museum
Every visit is a unique journey, a voyage through time and creativity. Here, art doesn't just speak, it whispers profound stories, infusing the space with an irresistible charm that lures you back again and again.
The Orangerie was originally built in 1852 by Firmin Bourgeois, but completed by Ludovico Visconti. Before it was an art gallery of some of the most famous pieces in history, the Orangerie was used as a storehouse, an examination room and a home for mobilized soldiers. Later, the museum became an annex to the Musee de Luxembourg, to which Claude Monet donated paintings as a monument to the end of WWI.
Now the Orangerie showcases works by Cezanne, Renoir, Picasso, Matisse and Modigliani making this a must-see museum for any art lover.
